Pamela Smith was named the 2023-2024 Edmond J. Safra Visiting Professor at the Center for Advanced Study of the Visual Arts at the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. Additionally, she was awarded the Inaugural Herzog August Bilbiothek Research Award (Eckensberger Stiftung) from the Herzog August Bilbiothek in Wolfenbüttel, Germany.

Professors  Mae Ngai and Nara Milanich (Barnard) spoke at a Congressional briefing on the US-Mexico border sponsored by the American Historical Association on Capitol Hill on July 28. Also speaking was Professor Gerry Cadava of Northwestern.
