In the last two decades, Black Sea history has expanded its reach beyond military confrontation, examining migration and disease, military cooperation, intellectual and cultural exchange, and other topics, and bringing together materials from both Russian and Turkish archives. “Across the Black Sea” will take stock of the field of Black Sea history, with an emphasis on new and digital scholarship.
