Zheng, Ziqian

Ziqian Zheng (he/him/his) is a Ph.D. student in International and Global History at Columbia, where he focuses on the transnational history of knowledge between China and East Central Europe in the twentieth century. He is broadly interested in global Communism, the history of science & technology, and socialist industrialization. Ziqian holds a B.A. with highest honors in History and Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) from the University of Michigan in 2022, where he researched China’s involvement in the 1956 Polish-Hungarian crisis and its changing roles within the Communist bloc. Before coming to Columbia, Ziqian worked as a Product Ops Manager in the tech and entertainment industry.
