Dimitris Mitsopoulos is a Ph.D. student in modern European history and a Richard Hofstadter Fellow at Columbia University. His research interests mainly focus on the history of illicit trade, trafficking, and criminality in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Dimitris comes from Assiros, Thessaloniki in Greece and he completed his BA at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and his MA in Global History at the Free and Humboldt Universities of Berlin, as a DAAD scholar.
