Paul Katz studies Latin American history, with a particular focus on the dictatorships and civil wars of the late twentieth century, and on the constructs of human rights and transitional justice that shape international perceptions of and approaches to these regimes. Before coming to Columbia, Paul completed his undergraduate degree in history and literature at Harvard and then studied social history at the National University of Luján in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
