Houman, Roxanne

Field: Modern Europe; Advisor: Saada; Year: 2018

Roxanne S. Houman (pronouns: she/her) is a PhD Candidate in Modern European History. Her doctoral thesis takes a pan-European perspective on the alternative trade networks created by fair trade activists in the second half of the twentieth century, and particularly focuses on the cross-pollination between these activists and consumer legislators in the European Community. Here, she is interested in connecting consumption studies of alternative moral economies to the history of the EU, and the histories of decolonization and development.
