Djacko, Mylkah

Mylkah Djacko is a PhD candidate in African history. She is interested in histories of medicine, psychiatry, religion, gender, and photography. Her dissertation project explores the relationship between African healing practices of mental illness and Western psychiatry in twentieth-century Côte d’Ivoire. She has also written about women’s history, philanthropy, and political legitimacy.

 

Prior to Columbia, she received a B.A. in History, with a minor in Sociology, from SUNY at Albany.
