Seokju is a doctoral candidate in the History Department at Columbia University. His research interests lie at the intersections of US foreign relations, political economy, and modern political thought. His dissertation project interrogates the relationship between regional economic convergence across the US and the US’ turn to globalism in the mid-twentieth century, with a focus on policy intellectuals and lawmakers in Congress.
More generally, Seokju is interested in historiography as a form of political thought.
In AY 2025-26, Seokju will be in residence at the Harvard Kennedy School as an Ernest May Fellow in History & Policy.
