Robin S. Reich is a medievalist specializing in the Mediterranean in the 12th Century. She incorporates methods from archaeology and art history into her studies of the history of science and art. Her dissertation, Copper-alloys and Cures: A Material History of Scientific Translation in Norman Sicily, will explore the tangible experiences that went into translating alchemy and medicine from Arabic into Latin in order to question the impact these translations had on Western medieval science.
