Liss, Caitlin

Caitlin is a Ph.D. student in the Latin American field studying the history of 16th and 17th century Mexico. Her current research is about the social and cultural history of multilingualism in colonial Mexico. Caitlin is also working on her own multilingualism by learning Nahuatl, and so she’s excited by anything relating to Nahua history or language. More broadly, she has additional interests in religion, urban history, and history of knowledge.

Caitlin holds a BA in Philosophy from Smith College. She lived and worked in Mexico City for four years after finishing her undergraduate degree before moving to New York and earning an MA in Latin American Studies from NYU.
