Jakubczak, Aleksandra

Aleksandra is PhD student in the Jewish History track. Her research focuses on the nineteenth century social history of Polish Jews, migrations, transatlantic ties, and gender.


Prior to coming to Columbia, Aleksandra graduated with the highest honors from Warsaw University with a B.A. and M.A. degrees in History and Oriental Studies. She also studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and was a fellow at the Goldstein-Goren Diaspora Institute for the Research of the Polish Jewry and Polish-Israeli Relations 2016/2017 at Tel Aviv University. She has several publication in the area of Jewish-Polish history and Jewish literature.
