Oliver Murphey is currently writing his dissertation on the Eisenhower administration's attitudes towards leftist nationalist movements in Latin America, particularly Bolivia. He is supervised by Matthew Connelly and John Coatsworth. His general areas include U.S. twentieth century political history, U.S. foreign policy and Latin American history during the Cold War.
Oliver received his undergraduate degree from the University of Edinburgh in 2007, and also completed an MPhil in Historical Studies at Cambridge University in 2008.
