Caroline Wazer graduated from Tufts University in 2009 with a B.A. in History and Classical Studies. She received her M.A. at Columbia with a thesis entitled "Septimius Severus, the Historia Augusta, and diurnum oleum gratuitum: Evidence and Problems," one paper in a series in which she examined the problems and benefits of using the Historia Augusta as a source for economic history. Her dissertation examines how the geographical and demographic growth of the Roman empire affected public health and ideas about health in the city of Rome.
