Micah McElroy is a doctoral student in United States History. He currently focuses on nonprofits and political economy in the later twentieth century. He is also interested in the intellectual history of capitalism and the relationship between ideas, culture, and the market. Micah earned his BA at the University of California, Berkeley with Highest Honors in 2013. At Berkeley, he researched the competition between consumer activists and business leaders over how to define and regulate corporate power in the 1970s. Before attending Columbia, Micah worked as the assistant managing editor of the Emma Goldman Papers in Berkeley, California.
