Join anthropologist Yarimar Bonilla in conversation with Columbia University Professor David Scott about her new book, Non-Sovereign Futures: French Caribbean Politics in the Wake of Disenchantment. In this ethnography of political activism, Bonilla examines how residents of the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe navigate the conflicting norms and enduring desires produced by the modernist project of postcolonial sovereignty.

Yarimar Bonilla is Associate Professor in Latino & Hispanic Caribbean Studies and Anthropology at Rutgers University.

David Scott is Professor of Anthropology at Columbia University.
